Global Warming-How It Could Spark World War III

These Days global warming is a very hot topic and little wonder, seeing as the earth grows hotter with each passing year.

For a long time now the effect of man’s industrialization and technological progress has quietly yet continuously eked away at the delicate balance of the planet’s atmosphere and ecosystem, but within the last 30 or so years the pace of this damage has markedly accelerated!

DOWNPLAYING GLOBAL WARMING

In much the same way that big tobacco once vehemently denied the association between cigarette smoking and lung cancer, for the longest time a number of multi-billion-dollar-a-year industries have also been questioning the existence of global warming and misleading the public about its reality.

In fact the Bush II years have been particular devastating to Environmental Protection Rights, yet staggeringly lucrative for those who would profit from the loss of such protection.

Predicting Collision: Web 2.0 and Enterprise 2.0

According to a recent BBC UK report, the world of Enterprise 2.0 is expected to embrace Web 2.0 with a predicted annual spending of billion by 2013 for social marketing and networking tools alone. Predictions for 2009′s biggest Internet trends seem overstated and quite obvious at this point, with over half of North American and European companies and corporate business already looking towards the Web 2.0 horizon. Just as San Francisco, Los Angeles hosts the Web 2.0 summit conference, news of business converging to the Web 2.0 revolution and axis to form the next generation of what we know as the web. Conference co-chairwoman Jennifer Pahlka says, “This is where we see the future of the web […] the companies making announcements here are building that future.” Forrester Research Company, which has carried out the former Web 2.0 survey, believes that emerging technologies being developed and unveiled represent a fundamentally reformed channel

Tony Bennett Tickets-Reclaiming the Holiday Cheer?

Tony Bennett is going to try and squeeze all of the grinches out by Christmastime. It’s not really the grinches’ fault though. There are those un-payable mortgages, mounting student loans, layoffs galore and the prickly pear at the grocery store has doubled its price. So in the end, what suffers? The gifts, the toys, the big stuffed Elmo dolls and giant-jumbo sized packages of candy-canes. And the ham, what about the melt in your mouth honey-baked ham? Are we going to turn in droves to Subway sandwiches, or worse, start stockpiling cans of Spam?

Bloomingdales is against spam, and against record profit losses for that matter. The executives at the giant retail company have decided that there is only one man that can save Christmas, and he’s got a twinkling smile and cloudy white hair. Is it Saint Nick, you ask? Oh no…his stocks fell weeks ago. This jolly old man exudes Christmas warmth with his new holiday jingles found on A Swingin’ Christmas. Tony

Bury Your Fantasy Football Competition! Running Back Sleepers to Watch in 2009

Bury Your Fantasy Football Competition! Running Back Sleepers to Watch in 2009

Each year in fantasy football circles everyone has their own opinion about sleepers and 2009 is no different. Sleeper picks can build up or tear down your team so consider all the options during the mock drafts. You never know when someone is going to have a breakout season. Here are some of my ideas about RB sleepers that may have a significant impact in 2009.

2009 Fantasy Football Sleeper Predictions: Running Backs

Shonn Greene-New York Jets

While Thomas Jones is still the starting RB, he is on the wrong side of 30 and if he gets injured, all signs point toward Shonn Greene as his replacement with Leon Washington remaining the 3rd down back or the RB used most often in passing situations. Shonn Greene makes a great “handcuff” if you draft Thomas Jones in fantasy football. I would target drafting Greene around the 13th round in typical fantasy drafts.

California Travel: Things to See and Do at Yosemite National Park

California’s Yosemite National Park is recognized internationally for its waterfalls, cliffs, groves, streams and biological assortment. The 1,200 mile park is one of the many UNESCO World Heritage sites found along the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

The Yosemite region in east-central California is known for its spectacular panoramas, massive granite cliffs, mountain vistas and historical communities. Yosemite Park offers exciting destinations with about 750,000 acres of land and thousands of ponds and lakes.

It also has 800 miles of hiking trails and 1600 miles of streams. The park is a 6 hour drive from Los Angeles and about 4.5 hours drive from San Francisco.

The Yosemite Valley is well known for its cliffs, meadows, rock formations and waterfalls. The Half Dome granite monolith is one of the mountain attractions, appearing like a giant dome stone that splits in half. The vertical face of El Capitan is also famous among

Navajo people

Housing

The Navajo traditionally live in octagonal houses known as hogans. Hogans are houses of forked poles and brush covered with earth. According to Kehoe, this style of housing is distinctive to the Navajo, even going as far as saying that, “even today, a solidly constructed, log walled Hogan is preferred by many Navajo families.” However, the Navajo have another style of housing. Around the 17th century, the Navajo built rectangular stone homes known as pueblitos. These pueblitos are believed to have been adopted by the Navajos from Pueblo culture, and resemble small Pueblo houses.

Subsistence

Until they came into contact with the Spanish and Pueblos, the Navajo were hunters and gatherers. They adopted farming techniques and crops from the Pueblo people, growing mainly corn, beans, and squash. As a result of Spanish influence, they began herding sheep and goats, depending on them for their use in trade and food. (Kehoe, 133) They turned harvested

Los Angeles Dodgers Baseball History

Technically speaking, it was the Los Angeles Dodgers that started to commercialize baseball. When the team was formed in the late 1800, amateur baseball leagues have gained popularity amongst the people who loved the game.

The Dodgers got its name from the Brooklyn nickname “trolley dodger”. This term refers to anybody from Brooklyn, New York, because they tend to dodge the trains and the cars on the borough as they try to play on the streets. Initially, the team was known as the Brooklyn Trolley Dodgers.

The archrivals of the Dodgers are the Giants. And their rivalry can be traced way back centuries ago. The Dodgers and the Giants are both from New York. If the Dodgers are from Brooklyn, the Giants are from Manhattan. They practically have the whole state torn apart. When the teams were transported from New York to California, the rivalry was merely transplanted. In 1958, the Dodgers became the seeds from Los Angeles while the Giants represented San

Mike Grier, First American Born Black NHL Player

It is well known that Willie O’Ree of the 1958 Boston Bruins was the first National Hockey League player of African descent. But, except for seven games that Val James played for Buffalo in 1981, it wasn’t until Mike Grier played for Edmonton, Washington and San Jose from 1996 through today that an African American player was able to have a meaningful career in the NHL.

Grier came from a football family. His father, Bobby Grier is a former NFL running back coach and current Associate Director of Pro Scouting for the Houston Texans. His brother Chris scouts for the Miami Dolphins and his uncle is Rosie Grier, a star defensive tackle for the New York Giants and Los Angeles Rams in the 1950s and 1960s.

Mike Grier was born in Detroit, but it was a move to Boston at age three that he told Puck Prospectus set his hockey career in motion.

”My family was right in the inner city there (Detroit), so I don’t know if I would have

Carolina Panthers Tickets – Panther-Heavy Pro Bowl

Anyone who has overlooked the Carolina Panthers this year has probably been surprised to see the cats dominating the NFC South this late in the season, but this week’s Pro Bowl selections have solidified Carolina’s status as a leading team in the league, sending four key players to Hawaii in February for an AFC/NFC showdown at Honolulu’s Aloha Stadium. While DeAngelo Williams and John Kasay are two of the Panthers’ best players whose names were left off this year’s Pro Bowl roster, other standout players Jordan Gross, Julius Peppers, Steve Smith and Jon Beason will all be representing Carolina as part of the NFC’s 2009 Pro Bowl team.

Offensive tackle Jordan Gross was selected as a starting tackle alongside Seattle’s Walter Jones as part of the NFC’s Pro Bowl team, and defensive end Julius Peppers was also selected as a starter alongside the Giants’ Justin Tuck on the defensive side of the game. Wide receiver Steve Smith will take his place on the Pro
